Is this guitar any good?

My cousin is looking to buy his first guitar...and he really wants a
SG...but to start out with...is the Epiphone SG-Special any good to
start for a beginning guitar? Its only 170...seems low price...is it a
good quality guitar? Would u recommend this? Or...what would u
suggest?
